From 30 May to 1 June 2025, 83 young sailors from across Europe—and as far as India and the United States—gathered in Balatonmáriafürdő, Hungary, for the second round of the Open Skiff Eurochallenge. With its scenic setting and warm hospitality, Lake Balaton once again proved to be a perfect venue for youth sailing.
The regatta opened with a day of excellent racing. Under building breeze, all three scheduled races were completed, offering an athletic challenge and tactical racing across the fleets. Both the U13 and U17 categories showcased impressive performances from a diverse and international group of sailors.
Saturday brought sunshine but little wind, preventing further racing. However, the day is far from quiet: sailors are enjoying games, community activities, and will gather in the evening for the official dinner and live concert—highlighting the spirit of fun and friendship that defines the Open Skiff Class.
With one day of racing remaining, all eyes turn to Sunday for a return of the wind and the chance to complete more races.

1. Alexander Grygołowicz (POL) – 6 points
