1. Update to C 7.2(e) – Tiller Extension
Class Rule C 7.2(e) has been amended and now reads:
The tiller extension may be replaced with an extension of a different length and/or any material.
This change means that a carbon tiller extension is now permitted.
The update follows a submission presented to and approved by the Class General Assembly. Sailors may now choose a tiller extension of different length and material according to their personal preference, provided it complies with the updated rule.
This amendment provides greater flexibility while maintaining the simplicity and accessibility that define the Open Skiff Class.

2. Update to C 1.1(d) – Open Skiff Umpiring Policy
A new rule has been introduced:
C 1.1(d) – Open Skiff Umpiring Policy applies when it is referred to in the Notice of Race and made available for all competitors.
This rule formally integrates the Open Skiff Umpiring Policy into the Class Rules framework.
The Umpiring Policy was prepared by the Class in consultation with World Sailing and provides a clear structure for events wishing to implement on-the-water umpiring.
The full Umpiring Policy is available on the Class website:
