Stage 3 of the O’pen Skiff Eurochallenge 2025 is underway on Lake Pluski, Stawiguda, Poland (19–21 September). The fleet enjoyed a classic opening day: a punchy breeze to start, easing toward the end—enough for three lively races and an early shape to the leaderboard.

The day began with an opening ceremony and warm local welcome—our big thanks to the Municipality of Pluski and Stawiguda, and to the organisers, Fundacja Yacht Club Junga, for making it happen.

Numbers and nations
Seventy-four sailors are on the start line across two divisions, representing seven countries: Poland, Italy, Hungary, France, USA, Germany, and Canada. Entries: U17 has 45, U13 has 29.

Leaders after three races
U17: Poland’s Paulina Szczepa leads with a consistent 2-5-2 for 9 points. Italy’s Maria Elena Barbarino is in close pursuit on 15, with Poland’s Tymoteusz Dalszewski sitting third on 20—level on points with Maksymilian Półtorak and France’s Antoine Henoud-Bertaina. With no discard yet, every finish still bites.

U13: Italy’s Gabriele Lizzulli set the pace with a 3-3-1 to hold the overnight lead on 7 points. Just behind, Poland’s Franciszek Sowa and Aleksander Grygołowicz are tied on 10, keeping the pressure on heading into day two.

What’s next
With lighter airs forecast late today and the prospect of freshening patches tomorrow, expect a shuffle once the first discard kicks in. Both divisions are tight at the top, and a clean start or one low-risk shift call could swing the podium picture quickly.
