The O’pen Skiff Class Association will hold its 2026 General Assembly online on Thursday, 5 November 2026 at 09:00 CET (08:00 UTC).
Ahead of the meeting, the Association publishes the names below, listed alphabetically by surname, together with the proposed resolution on committee size and an updated proposal concerning sail panel replacement.
Nominations received for the originally scheduled July meeting have been carried forward.

| Name | Country / organisation | Candidacy / proposed function |
|---|---|---|

| Sebastian Gläser | GER | Executive Committee candidate |
| Rossella Marchi | Tahe Outdoors France | Tahe Representative |

Under Articles 6.2 and 9.2 of the Constitution, the President is elected separately before the election of the other Executive Committee members.
The Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are subsequently appointed by the President from among the elected members, in accordance with Articles 9.2.1–9.2.3. The proposed functions shown above are therefore subject to the election results and the President’s appointments.
Articles 5.4 and 9.2 provide for one Executive Committee member designated by Tahe Outdoors France. This representative occupies a seat within the committee’s total membership, separately from the seats filled by election at the General Assembly. Rossella Marchi is included above in this capacity.
Proposal: Executive Committee Size
Article 9.2 of the Constitution provides for an Executive Committee of between three and nine members, with the number decided by the General Assembly.
The current Executive Committee consists of seven members. If this size is preserved, the incoming committee would comprise:
- Six members elected by the General Assembly, including the President.
- One representative designated by Tahe Outdoors France.
The following resolution will be put to the General Assembly as part of the committee election proceedings, before the elections take place:
The General Assembly resolves, pursuant to Article 9.2 of the Constitution, that the incoming Executive Committee shall consist of seven members: six elected by the General Assembly, including the President, and one representative designated by Tahe Outdoors France.
If the proposal is approved, the separate presidential election will be followed by elections for the remaining five elected seats.
The table above includes seven election candidates and the TAHE representative. Publication of the list does not constitute election or appointment.
Class Rules Amendment – Replacement of Sail Panels
Proposal
Amend Rule C.9.2(c) to allow the replacement of more than one damaged monofilm panel, subject to Rule C.9.2(b), while requiring the original Dacron frame to be retained and prohibiting changes to the sail’s area or shape.
This updates the proposal circulated with the General Assembly notice by adding an explicit requirement to retain the original Dacron frame.
Reason
The Polish O’pen Skiff Class Association has reported excessive wear and premature deterioration of the monofilm in sails currently available on the market, particularly in the upper panels. Damage affecting more than one panel can leave otherwise relatively new sails unsuitable for racing under the existing restriction.
Allowing the replacement of multiple damaged panels would extend the usable life of these sails and reduce replacement costs for sailors and clubs.
Requiring the original Dacron frame of each panel to be retained would help ensure that this repair provision cannot be used to modify sails or gain a performance advantage. Replacement panels must preserve the sail’s original area and shape, and all repairs remain subject to Rule C.9.2(b).
Proposed Amended Wording
(c) For repairs of rips in the monofilm material, an adhesive patch will be used to repair the sail where the rip is less than 10 cm long. For damage covering a greater area, the whole monofilm panel may be replaced in accordance with Rule C.9.2(b). More than one damaged monofilm panel may be replaced. The original Dacron frame surrounding each replaced panel shall be retained without alteration. Replacement shall not alter the sail’s original area or shape.
The proposed amendment will be submitted to the General Assembly for consideration and remains subject to the applicable class-rule approval process.
Member Representation and Voting
Full Members must submit their official representative’s details to the Executive Committee by 1 November 2026, by email to secretary@openskiff.org. Any proxy authorisation should accompany those details.
