In the shadow of the epidemic, the Hungarian class has a highly successful season behind it. First of all, more and more new clubs are joining the Hungarian open skiff project, which means more kids sailing with O’pen Skiffs. For us, the organization of the 2020 European Championship would have been the event where we could have made the O’pen Skiff Class accepted in Hungary at a higher level. However, even without this, the work done this year has garnered recognition from everyone.
We organized 2 ranking competitions and the national championship on Lake Balaton, and one competition took place on Lake Tata (close to Budapest). Thus, we organized a total of 4 super races for the 25-boat Hungarian class.
We hope that in the autumn of 2021, in a COVID-free world, we will host a European Championship on Lake Balaton with those with whom we could not compare our strength in 2020.
